Job Description

Position : Budtender

Reports to : Manager

Job Types : Full-time and Part-Time

Schedule : Available weekdays and weekends; opening, closing, and any other shifts.

Pay : $18.50-19.50 / hr

Summary

The Budtenders is responsible for ensuring accurate and complete transactions, including order items and customer payment, and proper customer relations. This position is also responsible for greeting customers in the lobby. Interacting with customers on the sales floor. The position is responsible for providing accurate and comprehensive information regarding our product offering and educating our customers on safe and responsible cannabis consumption. Everyone is cross-trained, so all Budtenders can handle sales, cashier, and greeter duties.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and validate customer identification used for entry.
  • Ensure accurate data entry for customer identification and age verification.
  • Manage all aspects of each and every customer experience, with a strong focus on creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere, compliance, and safety.
  • Adapts to varied sales volume and stays active by initiating continued learning activities, creating an engaging environment, and assisting in keeping the dispensary properly stocked, clean, tidy, and in operating order, while keeping a “customer first” acuity.
  • Process all orders and sales, with proper payment handling and discount application, using the Point of Sale (POS).
  • Verify accurate and correct customer purchases, including the type and quantity of products being purchased, with a focus on monitoring compliant sales limits.
  • Resolve any customer concerns regarding order fulfillment.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible product consumption and service by discreetly notifying the Manager of concerns and observations.
  • Maintain hard copy files (when required), cash drawer, receipts, and point of sale paperwork.
  • Reconcile Point of Sale (POS) till at end of shift and report any discrepancies immediately.
  • Follow all cash and product asset protection guidelines and report any issues immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, outside of shop, and other workspaces.
  • Attend and take responsibility for all trainings and education, including, but not limited to, products, compliance, and security.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all state compliance requirements.
  • Any other responsibilities determined by the Manager and/or Store Lead.

General Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a current CRC badge or any other state requirements.
  • Able to successfully pass an extensive background check.
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in customer service. Is results-oriented with demonstrated expertise in sales, Point of Sale (POS) system, organization, communication, reporting, and problem-solving.
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to write, hear, understand, and verbally communicate with others in English, and clearly and effectively relay comments, questions, and concerns.
  • Able to respond professionally under emergency circumstances.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
  • Must be able to stand in one position for a prolonged period of time.
  • Must be able to frequently crouch, kneel, and bend.
  • Must be able to frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds to waist level and carry items for up to 100 feet.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to focus and work in a dispensary atmosphere with moving objects, abundant or flashing lighting sources, and an active sound system.
  • Must be able to operate office electronics for a prolonged period of time.
