Job Description

A Team Home Services is looking for a Carpenter/Handyman to join our team based in and around Austin, Texas ! This tradesperson will be responsible for constructing wooden structures and fixtures as well as providing on-site installation, repairs, and maintenance. The ideal candidate is prompt and reliable, has superior support skills and excellent communication. He/she will have a proven track record of client satisfaction and is motivated to provide superior service.

Responsibilities :

  • Execute a range of carpentry tasks, including framing, finishing, and installation, according to project specifications and blueprints
  • Measure and mark materials with precision, ensuring accurate cuts and placements.
  • Install doors, windows, cabinets, molding, and other wooden components securely and in a level and plumb manner.
  • Diagnose and repair damaged or deteriorating wooden structures and components, including roofs, floors, and walls.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and best practices to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and hours worked, as well as any necessary permits or inspections.
  • Tool Maintenance: Keep tools and equipment in good working condition, performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various components of buildings, equipment, and fixtures, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC systems, doors, windows, and appliances.
  • Install, repair, or replace wooden structures, cabinets, shelves, trim, and other carpentry components using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Repair leaks, clogs, and other plumbing issues in sinks, toilets, faucets, and pipes. Install or replace plumbing fixtures
  • Replace outlets, switches, and light fixtures, and perform minor electrical repairs. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working with electrical systems.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting, apply paint or wallpaper, and perform minor drywall repairs to maintain or enhance the appearance of interior and exterior spaces.
  • Replace light bulbs, repair door locks, lubricating hinges, and addressing other minor repairs
  • Install various fixtures, furniture, appliances, and equipment according to manufacturer instructions and specifications.
  • Interact with tenants or property owners in a professional and courteous manner, addressing their concerns and providing updates on projects

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training
  • 5 years experience in any carpentry trade and general maintenance
  • Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of construction and safety regulations.
  • Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
  • Attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license 
  • Provide 3 references

Pay rate : $25-$40 hourly or earning up to $120,000 annually with bonus potential
