Detention Officer

Pay Rate: $23.41 per hour

Sign-On Bonus:

• Up to $3,000 for new employees hired between August 1, 2025 – November 30, 2025 .
• Rehire employees are eligible if their most recent break in service is six months or more .

Position Overview

The Detention Officer performs routine duties in accordance with established policies, regulations, and procedures to:

• Maintain order, safety, and security of residents in a correctional facility.
• Provide direct supervision of inmates/residents in housing units, at meals, during recreation, on work assignments, and throughout all phases of daily activity.
• Work in a variety of areas, including but not limited to: housing units, kitchen, medical, visitation, armory, and key control.
• Employ force or authorized weapons, if necessary, to maintain discipline and order.
• Be available to work any post assignment on any shift .

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must complete pre-service correctional officer training and, where applicable, hold a state-required non-commissioned security officer license.
• Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record.
• Ability to complete all required training to meet contract requirements and standards.
• Minimum age: 18 years old .
