We staff a suburban level one trauma center and are looking for a well-trained general surgeon to join us. Case mix includes bread and butter general surgery operations along with acute care surgery and daytime trauma coverage.
Current services provided include a broad range of elective general surgery, endoscopy, as well as urgent surgery and trauma. General Surgery resident coverage is 24/7 with benefits of an academic environment affiliated with the University of Illinois and the opportunity for research if desired. Home call is 1/3 along with the option to take additionally compensated night and weekend shifts. Current physicians have fellowship training in MIS, hepatobiliary, and surgical critical care.
We seek a full time general surgeon with an interest in becoming a partner in a suburban practice. The candidate should be interested in practicing a wide range of general surgical procedures, as well as working with and teaching surgery residents and medical students
•Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery (ABMS or AOA).
• Current and unrestricted Illinois medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• Current DEA registration.
• Excellent interpersonal, clinical, and communication skills.
• Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $430,000-450,000 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
