Job Description

Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Medical Technologist to join our client to support diagnostic and research operations within a leading clinical laboratory in Farmingdale, NY. This direct-hire position offers the opportunity to work in specialized departments such as Hematology, Chemistry, and Immunology, playing a vital role in ensuring accurate testing and quality results. The Medical Technologist will contribute to advancing laboratory excellence by maintaining precision in test performance, instrumentation, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Compensation:

$39 – $53 per hour

Work Schedule:

Full-time, 40 hours per week

• Hematology & Chemistry: Tuesday–Saturday, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
• Immunology: Varied shifts, possible Monday–Friday schedule

Key Responsibilities of the Medical Technologist:

• Perform and verify testing across laboratory disciplines including Chemistry, Hematology, and Immunology, ensuring high-quality and timely results.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain complex laboratory instruments while adhering to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Conduct quality control, proficiency testing, and preventive maintenance to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Document and review assay performance, data integrity, and specimen tracking for accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional laboratory teams to optimize workflow, troubleshoot technical issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills for the Medical Technologist:

• Active New York State Medical Laboratory Scientist license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• ASCP certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist preferred.
• Minimum of six months of experience in a clinical or research laboratory environment.
• Proficient in laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and quality control practices.
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities.
