Greetings, RVA! Nestled in Short Pump, Red Salt Chophouse & Sushi is the premiere destination for Steak and Sushi enthusiasts. We are passionate about delivering high-quality dishes using the finest ingredients and are searching for a dedicated Sous Chef to join our culinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the Executive Chef in menu development, ingredient sourcing, and meal preparations.
• Supervise the kitchen staff, ensuring all dishes are prepared to our exacting standards.
• Train and mentor junior staff, instilling in them the high standards and passion we embody at Red Salt.
• Ensure consistent and smooth kitchen operation during the Executive Chef's absence.
• Manage inventory, order supplies, and reduce wastage to maintain cost-effectiveness.
• Uphold the highest levels of cleanliness and comply with all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-caliber dining environment.
• Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• A deep understanding of culinary techniques, ingredients, and in-house preparation.
• Ability to envision and execute innovative menu items.
• Proficiency in various cooking methods, cuisines, and kitchen equipment.
• A team player with excellent communication and organizational skills.
